Gwen Davies is a singer-songwriter from British Columbia, Canada. Their repertoire centres around a dreamy indie/folk pop genre, with themes of self-love, mental health, and connection. Gwen’s music combines the voice of a young Joni Mitchell, with composition compared to dodie, and an ambience of Florence and the Machine.

 

Their lilting but powerful vocals and their carefree personality are captured in their performances. Featuring original music that invites in their audience, Gwen hopes that their music will inspire others to reach out for help. Their determination, originality, and wise soul comes through in their work. Their goal has always been to make music full-time, and they feel as though they are on the right path to reaching that goal.

 

“Have you ever sat in a quiet place with headphones in, closed your eyes and let yourself be consumed by music. The feeling is overwhelming and emotional, and to be able to give someone that, in my opinion, would be the highest honour in the world. I’ve always known I needed to centre my life around creating music. It is my entire reason for existing. So when I’m asked why I do music, it’s never even been a question, how could I not?"

 

As a member of the Canadian Musicians Co-operative, Gwen refined their artist brand and identity through the Summer Emerging Artist Intensive Program. They took workshops on developing a formal marketing plan and how to create their business. They also had many opportunities to perform their original music live on the Co-op Emerging Artist Online Livestreams.

 

Gwen is most active on Instagram with their 600+ followers, constantly giving updates and sharing their life/music journey. Their Youtube "Gwen Daisy" has been active since they were thirteen, and they are still uploading content to this day. Gwen is so excited to share their music and their story through live performances and professional recordings.
